BFA Capstone

De Luna Coffee International is a coffee roasting company here in Pensacola, Florida. Incorporating local iconography and historical references into their packaging, they have remained a local coffee fixture for residents and tourists alike. Priding themselves on delivering a quality cup of joe at a very reasonable price point, their products provide consumers with a happy medium, occupying the space between uber-speciality and low-grade consumer coffee.

When I approached Brett, who runs De Luna with his father Ed, I pitched the idea of cleaning up their brand image, streamlining their packaging, and generally updating the company’s presentability. Although the product was good, the brand image was inconsistent, which I feared could confuse consumers and hurt sales. At the heart of a successful brand image lies consistency, and creating a bit of memorability doesn’t hurt either.

My goal for this project was not only to provide a quality rebrand, but also to exercise the skills involved with real-world scenarios of meeting with a client and being able to actualize their vision. I am super thankful to Brett for giving me this opportunity. It was a great learning experience for me, and allowed me to produce a portfolio piece that I am proud of.

Thank you De Luna Coffee.
